11 Jan – Day 01: Vadodra – Jambugodha (75 Kms – 2 Hrs)
Arrivat at Vadodara Airport / Railway station, Drive to Jambugodha – Check into your hotel A Home for Nature Lovers – Family Run Heritage Hotel. Later will be visiting the Tribal Market of Chotta Udepur to see Bhils, Rathwas, and other communities, Later proceed to Champaner – Pavagadh archaeological Park, which has magnifient Works of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Return to your hotel for Dinner. Stay at A Home For Nature Lovers. O/N Jambugodha.
12 Jan – Day 02: Vadodra
Post breakfast drive to Vadodara to see the Laxmi Vilas Palace Museum and Tambekar Wada - - It is a three-storied building which is a typical Maratha Mansion, which was once the residence of Bhau Tambekar. Inside of Wada, there are some of the most beautiful but decaying 19th Century murals. The Building is almost 140+ Years Old. Tambekar Wada is a spacious, four-story building that has been constructed in an oblong fashion. It is originally the former residence of the Baroda State Diwan or Minister, Bhau Tambekar, who owned the responsibility of the administration of the state. The walls, doors and the ceilings on the first and second floors of this old fashion building are adorned with the best specimens of mural paintings dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Other Wall paintings dating back to the first half of the 19th century represent epic scenes depicting the life of the people. The paintings are in polychrome and are of Maratha style of paintings of 19th century A.D. They are the best specimens of mural paintings in Gujarat. Drive to Narmada to visit Statue of Unity. Statue of Unity" is the tallest statue in the world. Standing tall at the Sadhu-Bet Island, the 182-meter. The Statue is trulyy a sight to behold with the picturesque views of the majestic Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadiya, Providing a stunning backdrop to this Wonder of the world is another Marvell of engineering, the world's 2nd largest dam - Sardar Sarovar Dam, and its surrounding landscape. The Dam is à key attraction for tourists and engineers for its marvelous viewpoints and use of the engineering technology. Later enjoy the Sound and light show at SOU premises. O/N Vadodhra.
13 Jan – Day 03 : Vadodra – Ahmedabad (120 Kms – 2 / 3 Hrs)
Post breakfast today proceed to Ahmedabad enroute visiting Ranchod Rai Ji Temples at Dakor. Spend some time at the Holy Temple of Lord Krishna and drive to Ahmedabad enroute visit ' Vintage Village '. A private museum of vintage and classic cars. Later check into your hotel prebooked. Evening drive to Delhi Darwaja to see the local residents of Amdavad can be seen making à last-minute purchase of kite, manja and other accessories for next day to celeberate the festival of Uttarayan. Late night proceed to Manek Chowk. This bustling open square near the center of the city functions as a vegetable market in the morning and a jewellery market in the Afternoon, the second biggest in India, at an apparently 3 million rupees of annual turnover. It is most famous, however, for its food stalls that Start to emerge around 8 in the evening, with various local street snacks and goodies. O/N Ahmedabad.
14 Jan – Day 04 : Ahmedabad
Today early breakfast and enjoy the Heritage Walk of the old quarters of Ahmedabad City. More of the beauty and rich heritage culture of Ahmedabad could be explored by taking a heritage walk. The walk starts from at 8 AM from Kalupur Swaminarayan temple and ends at Jumma (Jama) masjid by 10 AM to 10:30 AM. You will be enjoy the festival of Kites ' Uttarayan '. Post lunch visit Adalaj Stepwell and Akshardham Temple. Do enjoy the Sound and light show at The Temple Premises. O/N Ahmedabad.
15 Jan – Day 05: Ahmedabad – Bajana (95 Kms – 2 Hrs)
Breakfast at Hotel and proceed to Patan and visit the Patola weavers and Rani Ki Vav Stepwell – one of the nicest monuments of Gujarat. Intricately built Step Well of Patan called as Rani Ki Vav was built by Queen Udayamati in the 11th century in the memory of her husband Kind Bhimdev. This stepped monument has marvelous sculptures of various Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Your next stop would be Modhera Sun temple constructed in 1026-27 AD, the complex has shrine hall, assembly hall and the reservoir. The pillars and exteriors of the halls are intricately carved, there are many beautiful small shrines in & around the reservoir and has numerous steps to go down the bottom. 16 Jan – Day 06 : Bajana – Little Rann of Kutch
Early morning Safari in Little Rann of Kutch to spot the Asiatic Wild Ass and other mammals - This area is also good for spotting migratory Birds. Post Lunch drive to Dehgam to see Agiyari community engaged in Salt production. Further this salt is taken to Kharagodha where the Salt the purified and packed. Later in the evening visit the local engaged in selling the milk to the cooperative society. O/N Bajana.
17 Jan – Day 07: Bajana – Bhuj (250 Kms – 4 / 5 Hrs)
Post breakfast drive to Bhuj, This is a panoramic drive through the salt pans, wind mills and if you are lunch you may see some Banjara travelling through the roads. Enroute you will be visiting LLDC Museum – A Wonderful place to understand Tribes and Textile skills of Kutch, Later visit Block Printers at Ajrakhpur, further you will be drive to Dhaneti to see the embroidery skills by Ahir Community. Continue to Bhuj. Today evening you visit the local market in Bhuj. You may get opportunity to see the nomadic tribes near Bus Stop and photograph them. O/N Bhuj.
18 Jan – Day 08: Bhuj
Today early breakfast and proceed towards border area to visit Mata No Madh - This shrine or Ashapura is steeped in antiquity as far as its origin is concerned. There are references to this goddess in the Puranas, Rudrayamal Tantra and so on which are all said to point to this shrine in Kutch. Later drive to Lakhpat Gurudwara - Lakhpat Gurudwara Sahib or Gurudwara Pehli Patshahi (Gurdwara of The First Master) is a Gurdwara, a place of worship for the Sikhs, located in Lakhpat of Kutch district, Guru Nanak on his way to Mecca for Hajj stayed over in the town during his second (1506-1513) and fourth (1519-1521) missionary journey called Udasis. It is believed that he had visited the site during his fourth journey. The descendants of the host established Gurdwara here in early 19th century. This Gurdwara have his relics like wooden footwear and palkhi (cradle) as well as manuscripts and markings of two important heads of Udasi sect. Now it is maintained by local Sikh community and Gurdwara Shri Guru Nanak Singh Sabha of Gandhidham. The Gurdwara is the State Protected Monument (S-GJ-65) by the state archeological department. It has won the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award of Distinction for conservation after the earthquake in 2001. O/N Bhuj.
19 Jan – Day 09: Bhuj – Hodka (65 Kms – 1 ½ Hr)
Post breakfast Drive to Nirona Village. Here see the Rogan painting by the Khatri family. Rogan Art of Nirona Village is rarest in the world and probably the only place to see it. Visit, the Vadha tribe who transform wood into the household with bright colors. Arrive at Hodka and have lunch. In the afternoon, visit Bhirandhiaro village – to appreciate the beautifully painted houses of the Meghwal tribe, here you can see some handicrafts made by the women. The Meghwal women wear very colorfully embroidered dresses and stunning nose rings. The huts have remarkable glass work in the interior walls. If lucky you can even listen to a Meghwal Musician cum singer in the compound if he is not traveling overseas or in India for concerts. Drive to Hodka. O/N Hodka.
20 Jan – Day 10: Hodka.
After having breakfast, visit a Pathan village of Gajarwali. After lunch, drive to see the Karo Dungar or Black Hill is the highest point in Kutch, This is probably the only place in Kachchh from where a panoramic view of the Great Rann of Kutch is possible. Later visit Khavda for Pottery works. Afternoon visit Hajipir Dargah - Hajipir Dargah is located in Kutch, Gujarat, India. The Dargah is dedicated to a Muslim saint Hajipir. It is believed that he came to the place as a soldier in the army of Shahabuddin Muhammad Ghauri. He settled at Nara after he left the service. He died while saving cows from dacoits. Evening visit Dhordo to see the breathtaking views of White Rann. O/N Hodka.
21 Jan – Day 11: Hodka – Mandvi (130 Kms – 2 / 3 Hrs)
Drive to Mandvi enroute visit 72 Jinalaya - Jain temples 72 Jinalaya is no exception. It has a temple for 72 Deris of Lord Mahavir. Located on the Bhuj – Mandvi main road, and about 10 km before Mandvi, a stop at 72 Jinalaya is going to leave you stunned and amazed! The temple complex is locally called 'Bauter Jinalaya' (after the local slang for Bahattar Jinalay which translates to 72 Jinalaya in Hindi) and is short for 'Adishwar Bauter Jinalay Mahatirth'. Continue to Mandvi - which is a tie-and-dye centre, and stay in a/c tented comfort of the royal resort by the private beach in the palace estate. Visit the dhow-building yard to see ocean-worthy vessels being hand-built. O/N Mandvi.
22nd Jan – Day 12: Mandvi – Bhuj (60 Kms – 1 Hr)
Morning after breakfast leave for Bhuj airport / railway station drop. If time permits, free time to explore the local market of Bhuj for shopping of Kutchi dresses / sweets. Journey Ends here.
