Itinerary

  • Day 01:Leh to Shang Sumdo to Chogdo (1-2 Hrs)

    After Breakfast, you’ll be driven to Shang Sumdo and from there you’ll take a short warm-up walk to Chogdo to acclimatize to the high altitude. Overnight stay in Camp.

  • Day 02: Chogdo - Gyuncho La (4600 m) - Camp at 4350 m in 6- 7 h.

    From here on, we will follow a new and a rarely traveled route through the valleys to the east. And then, we turn towards the west into a tributary valley that leads for a long and a gradual ascent towards the Gyuncho La. From there, we’ll descend a few meters below to establish our campsite.

  • Day 03: Camp at 4350 m - Shang La (4800 m)- Matho Phu (4350 m) within 6 h.

    Today, we will cross many spurs and minor passes with occasional view northwards towards the Indus Valley and the peaks situated beyond. We’ll climb up to the Shang La and then descend to the Tokpo River. Afterwards we will trek downhill to a nice camping place.

  • Day 04: Matho Phu - Matho La (4820 m) –Mankarmo (4500 m) within 4-5 h.

    At the pass, colorful prayer flags flap along the wind, with the Zanskar range in the background. Afterwards, we’ll descend steadily along the Jingchan River. We’ll be witnessing great views of the Stok summit and the Stok Kangri (6121m). Overnight stay in Camp.

  • Day 05: Mankarmo to Stok to Leh

    After breakfast in the morning, we’ll walk down to Stok and from there we’ll drive to Leh.
